Welcome back. Doesn't seem to be much interest in the 5sA123 Demon. I have to say that I'm a bit pumped up about it as I think it will kick ars when done. I havn't seen this layout used anywhere but I think Chris is dead on, as usual, as it gets the batt weight waaaay forward and the glass makes it rock solid.

Gee Thanks... Now you tell me Chris. (Guess I never asked)
It was Orange and you are rite!
Stating that it fades is an understatement!!!!

Wingman... I'm interested!! I love my a123's! So I'm watching and might ride your coat tails down the road.

I have my 5S a123's in this configuration.

I wonder how that will work for CG.

My top surface has faded immensly!!! For now on I will keep it covered in the car or any other time it might be affected from UV. Am I the only one that has experienced the extreme fading? Is there any way to protect it from UV fading it? Need to replace the flourescent top coat to restore visibility!

Will hopefully finish my Mini Demon in the next few weeks and then transition to my 36 Sportster
Pauls original 50 has the neon red and its faded like crazy.

Try flying inverted more often!

CK, you going to SEFF this year again? I would like to meet up with you and say hey in person. Saw you there last year, but I wasn't into wings at all then and had no clue who you were then. My first night flight with my 60 will be there this year

40" Demon A123 build

I finished glassing the demon and it was firmly pressed in its beds for 24 hours. Couldn't wait to get home from work to see the end result. The Henry's and 90 did a remarkable job of strengthening what was a very weak, hogged out nose on the demon and the bulge is not that pronounced.

Pre-glass weight with servos and rods was 10.8oz, after glassing it weighs 14.4oz. 3.6oz in glass and glue, not bad for 4 layers over battery bay

Ck's suggestion to use this battery layout really gets all the weight as far forward as possible and leaves plenty of room for more. How about 7sA123 for 25.2v

Not sure how much the Monokote adds in weight, but if I keep it light I think I can get this Demon on 5s finished at or real close to 40oz AUW. That certainly makes 7s doable in the 45oz range.

Crickets again. Hey Paul, or anyone, does microdan have those motormounts available yet? IF so where can I find them, thinking ahead to a slice build with microdan motor and that would be a good mount for application. Any help is appreciated, thanks

Tony
