You can use the thread search tool to search this thread for "latch". Velcro does work. I use high-strength Velcro from Lowe's, with a bit of Shoe Goo applied to the bottom for extra insurance. Holds two 2400mah 4s packs in during inverted flight.

Like diggs linked to, you can modify the idea to make it fit into an already built model....

I'm close to cut, so at the trailing edge I take the middle, but leading edge, can I go under the spare or should I go over the spare.

Question about the leading edge.

What's the current methodology for protecting the LE?

I've finished glassing and I'm getting ready to put on the monokote. In the vid, Chris mentions putting a line of tape along the leading edge (underneath the monokote). The version of Klique's Video calls for strapping tape. I believe I've also heard folks talk about using electrical tape.

The reason I ask is that I've had a heckuva time finding strapping tape locally.

thanks!

Josh just found this link for cheap rare earth magnets,,,

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=67488

$1.99 for 10,,I might stop in today to get a wood burner and will check to see if they are real neodymium magnets..and if they have bigger ones,,

Each one will vary, usually on top of spar but sometimes under. Either way is rite. I just aim for the center thrustline, if its on top of spar fine, if its under spar fine as well.

Straping tape is fiber tape

there is the extream tape which has a weave of fiber VS the length wize fibers..

Most box shops or packing supply stores should have some form of fiber tape..

I have used the 2 inch varity inder the riteweave, Over the riteweave and then put the monocoat down and i use a strip of electical tape on the le as a way to clean up the looks of the LE..

I have also built them with no straping tape it works both ways...

Thanks Paul.

I'll continue my search for the strapping tape locally, otherwise I'll got with the wide stuff under the monokote and electrical tape on top.

After another busted servo in the slice, ive lost count of how many, I pulled the thin wing servos out... and then for some reason I kept on going... and ripped all the monokote off it

Put some full size 10kg BB MG digitals in it (break those ya bastard!).. and while was at it thought why not experiment with a single fin...

And then I thought... hey... why dont I lam film it too!

Ready for recovering, hopefully tonight, and then go see how it flies tommorrow.
