Well I'm glad i did not take my Ritewing fleet out today,.. It was a lousy start for the new year

First i put the top down on the miata and i crack the plastic rear window that is only a year old

Then a mini wing i have has a striped gear in the servo and i did not find that till i got out there to fly

and each flight of the airfoilz ended in the removal of a piece of foam

and i forgot my adapter to fly the chipmunk

hey there guys
there is something Ive started to do that Id share

Ive noticed that placement of doors behind the battery for the RX & ESC cam allow a little more twist in a wing
Ive been installing the doors, cutting through the glass but not the covering
when you put the covering on it heats up the super90 & bonds together making the wing more torsionally stiff & if you press the wing with your finger you can find the door & where to cut if you need to open the door for repair

I dont know if any of you will use this but I thought it was worth mentioning & this is how Im gona do it from now on
take care
JAK

What is done to cool the ESC and other electronics in these wings ? Anything ? Seems to me the ESC will get pretty hot closed up in that compartment.

When glassing what can be done with the 3M 90 if it ends up lumpy ? Mine kicked so quick today that trying to smooth it caused the Bondo shaper to drag the 3M 90 into little lumps. Will heat smooth it out ? Or what ? It is not all that bad, I just would like a smoother surface for the Monokote.

What would be the rite method to fix the window? Henry cloth and 3M 90? Patch it up with a little strip of Monokote? CA? GOOP?

Sorry Paul, I've had days like that too!
