Great build thread... Can't wait to start mine...

One side comment though is that with the correct tools, carving out the servos & spaces is easy but I wish for a little more cost & maufacturing time, this would be done for us (all wings included) as I never get it as good as if I had the custom tools.

Jim the problem w that is everybody seems to want to change up the gear, and then all the layout would be off ,this allows you to be a builder, and adjust to your desires.
The ritewing line is based for enthusiast to build there own smokin fast or slower great handling wing.
It all can be adjusted to achieve your goals this way.

Thanks TaS! Would that be a twin outrunner? Should be crazy cool! Please share some pics here, and if you got the time share your motor mount method for outrunners!

Good work Atom. The work you are doing here will come in handy for me as I just ordered a TL 60 kit from CK. This will be my first Ritewing build. I only have Zagi experience.

I have a 60 I will be building as well, I won't go into details like this one but I will make a progress report. Keep us posted on your progress.

I have been very pleased with my TL50 running:

Mega 4
CC60
A123 5S1P
APCe 6/4
all up weight 46oz.

However as you can never have enough speed are there any motor/prop suggestions I should consider?

Yeah I think I will do a Twin Outrunner JustGoFly 500T on 5s or the 500TH on 4s
I have a few pics of the motor mount for an outrunner.
For anyone that would like to mount an outrunner in a wing....
Vinnie @ JustGoFly.com has a new 2" T Bracket motor mount that works Great for a wing.
I did drill holes for an AXI style mount to be used when I install my motor.
It is easier to get it mounted that way with 256 size screws.
And add a few washers under the AXI mount if you need to change the thrust angle.
I also put the mount in a vise to adjust the thrust angle a bit before gluing it in place. This being a heavy ga. type mount when you slice the wing and slide it over the carbon spar. It will give you a little down thrust. To correct this I just used a 2x4 and tapped the mount about 3 deg. up while it's in the vise. Then when I slide it in, it ends up being dead center on the thrust line.

Have'nt given up, the wing is being spackled, and it takes a while to dry, then sand, apply more, and then dry. If everything works out the glass goes on tomorrow.

what do you use the spackle on??

I find that after a few hard wacks i have dust under the henrys.. is it just o fill in the fillets?? or do you smooth out the wing using it..

If so something that works well also is the laminating glue it fills the voids and smooths out well and gives the glass some thing to stick to..

I think it is a weldwood product. i used it when i had a hard time on my first build. only down side it it all ad's wieght although the spackle is light
