What do you Demon 40 guys say realistic speeds are for a 3s4400 setup? I'd like to say with that battery setup because all my other planes use 3s2200. Or if I could still get decent run times (4minutes) with two in series for 6s.

Most you buy seem to have V1.2 installed when you get them. V1.6 has an ~instant reconnect feature, it remembers the 2 channels it was last talking to your Tx on, so uses them straight away when reconnecting if you have a 'brownout'. V1.2 will scan all 80 channels looking for your Tx which can take a second or two sometimes.
Do you have to mail them to to upgrade? Would be nice to have somthing like Castle Creation has with usb and getting updates over there software!

Yup, there isn't an external data port. I hear their service is fast though.

You send it back to Horizon Hobby. You pay to post it to them. They update it for free & then they pay to post it back to you, so all it costs you is whatever shipping it to them costs you. From what I read they are quite quick at doing this.

Just finished glassing the Lightning 36, most enjoyable too. Looks , very yellow

I would run them in parallel, depends on what motor you run. A mega 3 would get you between 90-100 flat and level maybe a bit more.
