Hi rcrich ; I have all the good intensions of posting pictures of my little hybrid but just recently got the camera and now I sort of lack the how to do it . A RC Groups tutoral on that subject would help a lot . I am currently following Frank's idea of doing a flat one in cardboard but the curves do add to the rigidity in cardboard and it does lent a personal charactor to the plane . I'll keep you posted Roger,

Roger:

Here's a pix of my cardboard sloper's underside. I used a 'v' shaped spline to stiffen the wing cord and lots of packing tape. Note that chunk of lead tapped to the nose...........it's one pound.

This thing flew amazingly well, although in high winds only. I could loop, roll, etc.

Have fun and keep us posted..............

Frank

Cardboard USAF UFO test airframe ... Flew fine , a little heavier than foam ... would have made a good sloper' , had we any slopes ...
Fold and glue method . Could have easily been waterproofed with ‘the Mix “

A little dumpster diving and your good for a few months worth of free building materials. Just stay out of the ones behind the restaurants though.

I'd like to do a ~10" indoor version from 3mm Depron or EPP (whichever is lighter) with the guts of an UM Trojan, including the brushed motor.

I'm aware that it will most likely not hover, but will it fly at all?

Update from post 450

here is an update from post 450. My Box Wing received a few more mods and a reshaping. It is now an UnderCamberOne. It flies Great!
Here is a video on 2 cells. 3 cells is even better. I'll post the 3 cell video when it is uploaded.

Here is the 3 cell video. I get tongue tied when explaining the name of the plane in the beginning of it. Ignore my mumbling and enjoy the video :-)
