One and the same. Once fully released the 12FGA can be ordered on the band of your choice, 2.4, 50, or 72 here in he US. The module and RX determine what band you are on and you will be able to switch at will. Pricing on the 2.4 FASST version has not been given out yet.

Don't get lost in Futaba names. The 12Z is actually the 12ZAP or 12ZHP, the 14MZ is a 14MZAP or 14MZHP.

I hope the 12FG 2.4ghz is cheaper than the 72mhz version.

Look at it like this:

Futaba can't really sell the 8 or 12 channel 2.4ghz RX for more than $150 if they want to compete, and that is almost $200 cheaper than the G3 rx that comes with the 72mhz systems. Hopefully they can get the 2.4ghz system down to $800 then ship $100-150 rx's. I think that would get it close enough to reasonable for me to upgrade.

Sticking with my 9C Super for a while

According to Hi-TecHobbies it's gonna cost ya a cool 1.5K to own a 12fg 2.4GHz. Yikes!!!

12FG 2.4GH FASST $1500

I hope that price is just some pie in the sky placeholder. Heck that's more than the 12Z

I'll stick with my 9C and wait to see how the whole Module thing shakes out.

The new 6 ch FASST system is out and I've seen one in my LHS. The flyer that came in the mail yesterday. Had the 2.4 GHz JR 9303 system for $839.99 (Cdn $$) The Futaba 2.4 6EX was 239.99 and extra rx's R606FS for $89.99.
But when you check out the Futaba web site They show that the module for the 9C; but you will not be able to use the R606FS.
I'm kinda hoping that the R607FS Rx price will land somewhere close.
I would love to get a 12FG but I think I'll have to stay with my 9C and a 2.4 GHz module that won't work with the rx that has already been released.

If it's going to be $1,500 it will cost Futaba one customer (me). Since I don't need 12 channels, I'll just go with the JR X9303 if the 12FG is so expensive.

Yeah. I dont need 12 channels either, thats why I am hoping that the 2.4 ghz 7C will not be much more than the 2.4 ghz 6EX.

I agree. However I did get a chance to look at and play with the Futaba 12Z, It sure feels nice in the hands, with the ball bearings for the sticks; and all that stuff.
Wouldn't the 12FG would be in the same class as the JR 10X.
So; it would be interesting to see what Futaba sets for the price of a 9C 2.4 GHz only system; if they ever release it that way.
My only complaint; is that if I was to pick up a 6EX; to test out this 2.4 GHz stuff When Futaba releases the module for the 9C, I won't be able to use the Rx from the 6EX; That is available now. If I was able to get the 12FG. It would work, ( as per Futaba's chart).
Here's hoping that the R607FS Rx will be priced similar to the R606FS that comes with the 6EX.
Oh one more thing or two.
Spektrum offers a Module for the JR9303; and one for the Futaba9C.
The Futaba one only uses the AR9000 with is double the cost of all the other Spektrum receivers; Go figure.
And the cost to put a Spektrum module in you Futaba radio. almost the same as a complete DX-7 system.
OK I'm done ranting.
Waiting for Futaba pricing new for the 9C modules

You also need to consider the price of a receiver - Futaba 6-channel FASST: $90 - Berg 7P w/crystal: $60.

Well I can get the 8 ch Vampowerpro rx with crystal for $35, but the only reason I would want a 2.4 ghz radio is because I would not have to wait if someone is my channel, and so that there would be less risk of someone else turning on there radio that is on the same channel as you, at special events.

Does anyone know if the 2.4 module/receivers are available to convert the 9C 72 MHz to 2.4 yet?

I have seen them on the website and it seems they will be a lot sheaper than using the spektrum system (at $250ish) to do the same thing.

Thanks!
