Yippee!
My Fireworks III in 200+ meters thermal - video

that was last saturday, a very very good day, plenty of powerful thermals... in this particular flight I climbed to about 230 meters and came down because I could barely see it, but if it was a F3J ship I would probably go much much higher...
Enjoy

Congratulations. Its a great feelling, isn`t it?

I caught my first bigger thermal last weekend with a scratch build SuperGeeII.
But until then I was wondering if there was something wrong with me or the plane.
The Zlog said 430 meters! Believe me, I didn`t want to fly higher
And the seagulls around me didn`t make the flight easyer

WOW!! 430 meters??? that's unbelievable....
That's not my first big thermal... When I go fly in the desert it is very hard to land sometimes because of the powerful thermals...
But I had one case when I almost lost my Enigma DLG in one huge thermal, I couldn't see it at all! it took more then 20 minutes to land, I will definitely won't do that again!

I got 662 meters on the weekend. But this is nothing compared to Martin Godden's 1032 merers.

Arne

Seems like a combination of perfect day and good eyesight:

In my case - I lost my plane from sight, but since it was not my first time (last time I really lost the plane and recovered it only next day - lucky me) I managed to be calm, pointed the nose down and then started to make big loose loops - I was able to spot the plane when the wing was perpendicular to line of sight.
