Servo setup for Mini Mega Pencam???

Hi, I was just at a local Wal-Mart, that had one Aiptek Mini Mega Pencam left, on sale for $59.83, so I bought it. Boy, this should be an improvement from the Pencam Trio I was using!

I'd like to see some methods of putting a servo on it to work preferably both buttons, but maybe just the shutter.

Thanks in advance.

Keith

I don't have a picture but I removed the lanyard mount thingie from the top of the camera and mounted a servo with a V configured horn cut down to hit the shutter button in one direction, and the mode button the other. I stopped using this method cause it gets confusing when changing modes in flight. I now use the ball bearing set up Boomer came up with which presses the shutter only. I just power up before launch and go. I rarely shoot video cause it doesn't come out that great anyway.

This is probably a different model Aiptec than yours, but may give you some ideas.

I wanted something that would provide control without any mods to the camera. And rubber-banding a servo to it and fiddling with adjustment each time was a real pain. With this set-up you just slide the camera in or out. The foam box adds a little impact protection as well, you know, just in case.

This is my current setup:
I use the rudder channel. Full left rudder (with rudder trim set full left) pushes on the Mode switch to turn the camera on, just before launch.
Then the rudder trim is pushed full right, to lessen the odds of an inadvertant mode change in flight.
The shutter is tripped by full right.

Sparky,
I see you opted for the "easy to find in tall weeds" color. Good choice.
