mrj, how about some bigger pics?
I picked up one of these at MWE also. Trying to figure out where to mount the motor. I want to get a couple more, and a 25" also. I was thinking about trying a ducted fan on one also. So far I have the wings gooped on. Now I need to go pick up some TE stock. I'm also trying to figure out where to put the spars.

Swoof-
Decided to go sloping in the morning,so i took the motor off.I ran a piece of carbon fiber front to back in the center of the fuselage,i then marked center on the top of the fuse in between the vertical stabilizers.I drilled 4 holes through the fuselage and zip tied through the Epp and around the carbon spar.Last i used shoe goo to reinforce the Epp and the carbon where the motor sits.Trying to keep my build lite, as was suggested. BElow i added pics of how i mounted my 12mm brushless(with zip ties) and how i will mount my 20mm brushless. |

MJR did you get a chance to fly it powered yet?
I flew mine on the slope quite a bit today in 25 mph wind it was a bit much for it weighn at 8 oz or so. It flew pretty good on the slope but i think it will really shine w a razor motor or a himax 20 mm 4000 kv on 3s or somthin close to that.I will set mine up next week like that. ck |

CK-ya i flew with the feiagio it flew nice but i had it a little nose heavy in gusty wind. Those cheap gws 3x3 props break when you glance at them, every time i'd land i'd break a prop.I've got my 4100 himax ready to go after tommorrow. What would you guess the powered version auw be? I'am right around 13oz with a 3cell1320 lipo or 2 1500 2cell and the 20mm motor.I dont have a wide enough selection of battery sizes to help with balancing the himax.I dont want to add weight i'd rather add battery.

I'm still new to the whole brushless thing. I was planning to go with the Medusa Afterburner 12mm 5300 because that's what Chris recommended for a 2s which is what most of my LiPo's are. But I can't find anyone that has them in stock, not even Medusa. I guess if I'm going to run a 12mm I'll either have to go with a Medusa 4000 on 3s or get a Feigao 12mm. I understand the 2015 beig easier to balance, maybe I just need a bigger battery. *evil laugh*

got my fs and spanker today. love the fs. the other looks alot like my 26 minid core i got.
anyway not totally decided with the power, but i'm leaning toward the 110 arc motor and 2 910 3s parallel. should scoot. i've got a 20mm heat sink mount that mounts using a stick. and then i have a custom cdr hot wind that is a lot lighter. and a lspj. |
