EPO F15 starting new assemlby

I have an EPO No Power System kit which I am just starting assembly.
Looking for suggestions for mods to consider. Not after super performance, but looking at adding carbon before gluing top to bottom.
Planning on no gear, maybe add carbon rails in the bottom as skids for landing?
Deciding where to mount ESC's in fuse side with heatsink in the air duct? or use one larger amp ESC, instead of two 35a's.
Also, considering, trying to find space for a stabilizer.
Should I go regular elevator or full flying elevator?
I am intermediate flown FMS 64mm F15 ok but for straining through a tree top, and this ones predecessor, again - tree magnet......

Building mine - number 3. I'm using the Aero 64mm edf setup from HeadsUpRC. Solid fans. I will be mounting my ESCs in the duct, the fuse doesn't have enough air flow. Doing a single ESC is possible but you would have to use something around 100 amp ESC. You have to use 2x plus 15%. I recommend using the full flying stab and that requires using GWS park servos. The splines on the stab clips are made for those servos, every other option will fail. CF reinforcement isn't necessary unless you break something. The model is not really fast, the wing is thick and draggy. But it looks great and flies better.

Jim, are you gluing your wings on, or keeping them removable? If you're gluing them on, I could really use the wing clips. My GWS15 has been grounded for months.

2nd on the GWS Park servos and full flying stab. If you plan on belly landing in long(ish) grass, I would reverse the sides on the elevators, or at least the clips if you haven't glued them on yet. It elevates them a little higher than "scale", but it keeps them from digging in on the grass.

Grass

As I plan mostly grass landings, I may opt for fixed stabs as they may be more durable.
Also, I may "pin" the rudders on so I can avoid the ugly brackets in th kit.

Wing clips, if I decide to glue, I may make the clips available.

With the full flying elevators elevated, they haven't ever caught the grass. Mine is only full flying tail, but I've heard of those that have some conventional ailerons/elevators that the full flying tail is more responsive.

Maybe sell

Before I really get started, would anyone here like to buy this kit?
I have $130 into it including shipping.
It is no power system, white, EPO foam bought from filephidels shop in NY.
Located now in Toronto Canada.
Can include two motors and esc s $ negotiable

Just thought I'd post the idea as I have lots of lanes now and one good f18 edf.
Wouldn't mind a fly zone beaver, or eflight stearman over this.

Sorry, I need to have the wings removable. Have you thought of using neodymium magnets to attach the wing? Two per may do the trick.

Retracts

This has been a slow boat build. I've putzed and played, tried different combinations, and a lot of mock-up and finally got to to the point of having working retracts on the F-15. Still need to tidy up my dremmeling (that is why the right gear got stuck). The rest of the build should be quick(er).

F-15 retracts (0 min 37 sec)

More done

Fuse is sealed up, all the electronics in and working. Need to clean-up, sand, paint, and balance. Wish I could have gotten the nose wheel further into the fuse but there are limitations with this size model and foam.

GWS F-15 (0 min 34 sec)

If you ever plan on belly landing in the grass, you may want to reverse the elevator's. Obviously since you're putting this much effort into gear, it will likely be rare, but just in case.

With the stock configuration the tips of the elevators dipped below the rest of the plane. When I would flare for landings, they would always catch the grass and break the tips off or strip a servo.

Someone on here (might have even been you for all I can remember) recommended switching sides. It lifts them up a little bit, but it fixed the problem.

Even with gear, this plane still hand launches just fine for those places with grass, but no runway.

Fortunately my fields are both prepared, one petro mat and the other asphalt. Will keep your concern in mind anyway.

Hope to paint this weekend.

RAY!!!! You still exist.

Is GWS going to come out with anything else, or have they given up?
