I have the original. It handles the weight fine. They are the eFlite ones, but I'm sure the knock offs would be the same.

Perfect! Really curious how you did the nose gear steering. Is your F-15 wings clipped?

I have the nose gear retracting forward. I'm using the same steering servo as with the stock configuration. I don't have mine clipped, although, I think it would still handle it if they were. It still glides in for the smoothest of landings. And I'm also at 4,800(ish) ft elevation.

Just for information, I'm running park 400 4200kv on 3S3300. I hit 80 level flight, 85ish coming out of a dive.

How about that. I forgot I had taken photos when I installed the retracts. Here they are.

They're not the greatest photos. But they'll give you the idea. I think I made my mains just a little too long. If I did it over again, I'd be sure to make sure it had more nose up.

Even though the plane doesn't need it for flight, I have to get going pretty quick on the ground before it gets out of the ground effect.

I added light-ply supports on each side of the mains, and a square piece for the nose.

Thanks for the pictures, helps a lot. Any reason you have the mains rotating back? I'm contemplating getting some 90 degree rotating ones so the gear closes forward and flat. Need to find out how thick the foam is on the bottom of the nacelle before I get those. Like I said, the equipment has come a long way in what is available in a short time.

This will be a "take my time" build.

Not sure on the mains. I can't remember if it was for cg purposes or not. In fact, I think it may have been because there was more room. There's not a whole lot to begin with, but I think the ducts are bigger in the front, so there was less room to tuck the wheel in.

I'm sure there's not much that's scale about the retracts, but I love this plane. It is so fun to take off and land with gear. After all these years, this is probably still my favorite.

I know it's a long shot, but does anyone have any of these clips laying around? I had two extra, but I just broke my last one the other day. I have an email in to aero007 at GWSProps, but it doesn't hurt to ask around.

I think it's just underpowered.. and seems to bank to the right. Although a taxi with speed had the nose rising nicely.

How long flights do you get with that set up?

I can stretch it to 4 minutes. I think that's what I have my timer set at, but I usually come in before.
