new 2.4GHz transmitter/recievers...

Hey guys, I was thinking of buying the new Futaba 6EX 2.4GHz transmitter, but heard that there are some problems with the 2.4GHz recievers, and that they are not too practicle with Helicopters.

If i were to get one, i would me using it on a Twister 3D, Mini Titan and Trex450.

Would the recievers fit ok on these Helis?

I'm pretty new to the whole heli world so any advice would be appreciated!!

Yes the receivers would fit without a problem.

But please, if you can afford a Twister (I'm assuming the Hirobo 90 sized heli) don't get the 6EX. I would suggest the new Futaba 12FG or even the 7C, both should be out soon and are 2.4GHz. Also consider the Spektrum DX7 or the soon to be released JR 2.4GHz X9303.

Yea seriously, the futaba 6ex is one of the worst (featurewise) computer radios you can get, especialy for a heli!!! If you are a futaba die hard, then wait for the futaba modules so you can get a decent radio.... The 6ex will fly a heli of course, but its missing many features that make flying a heli easier and more precise...

ok, what about 35MHz? really i can only afford about 150 - 200.


is this one ok?

Yes that one will work fine (I've got one), just make sure it's the heli version of that radio. Over here it's called the 7CHP.

Maybe look at the Spektrum DX7, it might be within your price range and it's a 2.4GHz radio.

If you want a decent Futaba Heli radio with 2.4 and dont want to spend over $1000(est) for the 12FG you might want to consider a 9C with the 2.4 module.
