Would you all say thats just toooo much weight for this plane or would you think it can handle it?

I would like avoid the lipos as I dont have a balancer... and this is the main battery i run being a 9.9v 2200mah.

Much thanks!

Peter

Wow Pete! 8.1 ounces is a lot of weight! The stock lipo is about 4 oz.
The Motor also is running on 3S 11.1V (12.40) I don't know if 9.9 will work.
I charge LiPos w/o balanceing all the time with no problem.
Where do you live? I'll give you a spare charger in you are not 10,000 miles away.

I agree the T-28 from Parkzone is a great plane. I learned on the Hobby-Zone Super Cub and then started flying the T-28 after hearing how nice it is as an aileron low-wing airplane. The maiden was great with a perfect take-off and landing. I love the plane and look forward to many more flights.

Thank you,
Mondo
Yes sir, the T-28 will take off in short grass that is not too thick. I do that quite often when the road we land on is occupied by something.

The T-28 Trojan is a nose wheel plane like the T-34 Mentor right TA?

Correct - the T-28 is kind of a snub-nosed Mentor.

Merlin, thanks for the quick reply. Thats also a very nice offer i would appreciate it, I live in new york where it feels like the wind never stops during the winter and im dying to take to the sky. yeah so has no one gone with an extreme weight yet? double the weight from the stock battery is surely a lot more, but like I said i own it and i like the technology a bit more then lipos. I thought 9.9v may be low but i figuerd it be worth a shot since that voltage dose not drop drastically as the battery drains in flight.

I know these foamies like to be light, the last thing i want to do is set it up for disaster. but its tempting to try unless you all really think the added weight is a fast way to wreck a nice plane!

Yes sir, she's a trike. Makes landing less trying, easier on props and she handles a fair amount of wind reasonably well. However, my first love is always WW-2 tail draggers with the Art-Tech Mustang and Corsair up there with some of the best flying warbirds that I have flown.

Sorry I could not help myself! I knew it was a trike! I'm just...well being myself

Jamesdr and I saw a P-51 with about a 7 foot wingspan over rotate on the grass today and flip over. Only looked to be about $100.00 worth of damage.
Jim said the prop hit the ground.

I got in 4 or 5 flights with the Mustang today. A lot of wind and not one good landing. At one point the plane was blowing back down the runway. It was time to put it in the trunk.

Sorry Larry. I'll be good!

BTW I don't think there is a break in period but yesterday the Mustang was faster and I flew it at 1/2 not 3/4?

Man, that's quick thinking. Guess he flew it in too much wind.

Merlin, you're at it again.

Boy was it a great day here today. Flew my PZ Trojan for about an hour. Had 3 in the air at one time, pretty sight. The only plane that flies better than the Art-Tech Mustang or Corsair.
