CK put in some very good runs with his wings today at SEFF. These pictures are from a run late in the day with his 7S single-motor Demon 40" wing.

First pic shows Chris getting mentally prepared :-o

Second pic shows the hand-launch, with prop spinning just under 40K RPM

And finally, the radar gun result - a blistering 178 MPH!! A couple passes later he put up a 175 MPH pass, so it was no fluke.


I put a couple of flights on my 4S Demon and had a blast, and Chris flew his 6S twin and 6S single, both of which worked great.

Heck CK you could almost fly F5D with that wing if you could handle the

you forget F5D racing is in a straight line not diving to get top speed. Nice try but the D99 I sold a week ago does 180+ in a straight line on 800watts.

Ok, I'm sure CK has posted this on another page somewhere but what motor & prop is he using on that 7s setup?

I was at Seff watching the speed runs. His wings are the tools of psych warfare. Even if you can't see it, you can tell it is coming at ya really with full on power. It sounds like it eats the dreams of Zagi's for dinner.

I'd ask for a video, but I'm sure that at 178 mph, I wouldn't even see it for more than a frame or two.
We just had a pretty big RC fly-in here in Shreveport, Louisiana. We didn't have any jets or electrics out there this weekend. But there were plenty of souped up, gas powered, pylon racers, 1/3 scale stunt planes, and high-speed deltas.
Fastest plane out there only got up to 154. (that was the delta)
Funny thing is, these gas guys look down on electric planes. I guess they're still stuck in the 80's. I need to get one of CK's wings out there and show these guys just how much more fun (and affordable) it is to fly electrics!!

I swear, some of those old farts really piss me off sometimes. It almost seems like they are so afraid of anything new that they will go out of their way to shun it, even when you can flat out prove them wrong. Oh well, I guess all I can so is to prove them wrong time and time again.

I can't wait to get my TL-50 started...got all the money I need for it and now I just need CK to send it my way!!
