Best Digital Tail Servo for Trex using GY401?
Looking for recommendations on the current best digital tail servos for the Trex that will run in DS mode happily on the 401 at 5V. Cheers TF. I am sick of my HS 81 blowing out in backwards flight and the odd time in forward flips.

I never tried the 9650, but I am having great results with my new JR DS3400G servo. It is made specifically for a gyro servo for mini helis.

I'm running the GY401 and a S3154 right now and have had no problems. But then I am just now doing things that others have been doing for years.

3400G All the way. I have 2 9650's both collecting dust. I also use the 3154, but the 3400G is way better.

Ok so it looks like the DS3400G then. What about for cyclic? I found these.....http://www.helihobby.com/html/rcheli_servo.html
BMS-375 metal gear version further down the page. They look good. I want fast servos with plenty of torque but the strength to stand up to 3D. |

then u want good old HS-65MGs. i came from digital servos, and i love these. they are strong, you dont need to replace gears, they are fast and precise especially when u put them on 6v. when u crash, you dont break the servo arm, but instead you pop a link, which is much easier on the wallet than buying new arms consistently. also, the servo doesn't have any slop.
i used to have ds285, then 241s, then 281s. im going to try 3154s, but then i decided on good old HS-65MGs. i like the 9650 over the 3400G for some reason, maybe b/c i grew up using the 9650 and am accustomed to its characteristics. |

I just bought another set of P-03s for my Mini-Titan... I think they're great. And I haven't even tried programming them up yet...
The new Blue Bird digitals, especially the 375 and 376, look pretty cool too. |

Try the new futaba s3153 very nice and feels better then my s3154 that I was using
with great success. |
