30 Mins vs. 5 Mins epoxy

Apart from price and drying/curing time, what is the difference between 30 minutes and 5 minutes epoxy? Which one do I use when?

the 5 min will set much quicker but the 30 min will be much stronger if u give it the extra time to harden.

If you give it extra time to harden? You have to let it harden longer due to the slower reaction time.

Thanks guys!

But at what point do I say "for this I can use 5Mins, and for that I must use 30 Mins"?

Fuselages will go fine with 5 min but wings and high stress things might need 30 min.

Use the 5min for small jobs, no more than thumbnail size batches and smaller.(control horns, servos mounts, etc.)

30min stuff for bigger jobs where your going to need the time to spread it out.(wing joints, wing spars, etc.)

Up,

I've found that the strength is pretty irrelevant; all adhesives seem to be stronger than the materials that they're bonding.

It's the working time time that matters; no good using quick epoxy when you need several minutes to glass-skin a wing joint.
