APC prop w/ high power motor and 3mm prop saver?

3 mm shaft and a prop saver with a fairly beefy motor I got. I have an APC prop but the prop extends almost as far as the fairly short screws and there isn't enough "substance" in the screw ends or length in them to prevent the o-ring from flying off when under full throttle. Due to something I did with the motor, I have to mount these props on the smooth 3mm shaft and can't find a way yet to do it. GWS props fit because they have a much smaller focal point, but then they're also not as well suited to my motor as an APC.

Thanks!

You could use longer screws, though balancing will be critical - but I'd be concerned about this "high power" motor and a propsaver anyway - I don't like prop savers at >100W.

Can you just add a 3mm prop adaptor? I agree with Dr Kiwi on the prop saver limitations, I don't feel comfortable with an "O" ring or rubber band holding on a prop at over 100W.

By the time you've put three O-rings on to hold the prop safely, it will no longer function as a prop saver anyway.

I don't think it offers any benefit, either, since the grip required to keep the prop in place would offer no give on impact, but since I carelessly stripped the threads on the end of the bell (is that the spider-plate?), the included prop adapter absolutely will not stay on the motor, so I'm forced to go with the shaft

get a 3mm adapter and have done with it.

Plenty to be had. I like MPjet ones, but YMMV.

Will this fit over a 3mm shaft? Remember, I have no way to connect anything to the motor except a smooth 3mm shaft.

Of course. MPJet, being European, make 3mm collet adapters, not 3.2mm (1/8")

(I think they do 3.2mm as well).

You just Dremel off the shaft to about 12mm and slip the collet adaptor over it.

M5 shaft to the prop. Normally means you have to ream the APC ring a little.
