Question
Any advice on an ESC?

I just ordered an E-Flite Hacker E-series 3700kv brushless motor for my blade cp, I was wondering if anyone would recommend an ESC to use with it.
The specs say to use at least a 12a, and I want to go as light as possible.
Everything will be stock but the motor and esc.

Also, I am guessing that an 8T pinion will work best, will any pinion work for the blade cp gears?

I am very happy with the Phoenix series. I use a Phoenix 10 on my 4200kv CP2 with 3S lipos.

Phoenix is good. I have a Thunderbird 25A and I don't think I'll get another. You need an external programming box and the end points are kind of a pain to set.

Yea, I've been looking at Phoenix, seems like everyone likes them.
I just got my new 4 in 1 in and I want to go ahead and upgrade to brushless so it doesn't burn up like the last two. I really don't want to have to buy a programing box along with the esc I chose.

Gino, do you think that the Phoenix 10 would be enough for this motor.
if not does phoenix make a 12a esc?

The Phoenix 10 should work well. It is also quite easy to program with just a transmitter. 8T is a very efficient setup. Using light lipos also go a long way in reducing amps.
