On a new 11.1v 1000mah 10C pack, you can safely fly 15 min. When the pack is old, reduce your flight times. Well, it is old and worn so who cares hehe.

To check flightime, fly until heli can't punch hard anymore. Then note time. Knockoff 1-2 min from that. That will be your safe flying time. Ideally you should just use 80% of capacity.

Even with the best of care, they only last 80-100 flights before runtime is reduced considerably. But the pack is still usable.

Do a Search on lipo alarms. There are designs and ready made units out there.

If I run the lipo low enough, the red light on the 4in1 starts flashing. There is then about a minute of hovering left at that point. I measured the voltage at that point, and it's around 10.5, which I think is still safe (please correct me, if I'm wrong).
However, I can tell right when cyclic control begins to diminish, and when I punch the throttle, the climb rate is definatly less than it should be. I quit flying as soon as I notice this change, and the voltage when measured is 11.25V. From what I've been reading this is ok, but please, someone let me know if this is not right.

The red led is not warning indicator. It means you are on full throttle. Use lipo alarm or time your flights. If you fly until you feel anything, it is too late. So time you flight until you feel anything. Then knock off a few minutes from that. That is your safe flying time.

Measuring voltage from a static pack is not a good indicator of pack in-use voltage. A pack without load has higher voltage.
