Why don't women like RC flying?

I often go to the Van Nuys field and hang out with up to 100 guys... Occasionally there may be a girlfriend or two but let's face it; rc flying is just not a good place to meet women.

I'd like to know why it is so rare for women to be into it. Is it biological or learned? Any ideas?

Well we have one in our club she flys 1/4 scale cub and such like. We also have some very supportive wifes in the pack. Most of them like it as they no dad's out in the Hanger doing stuff.

We have the NZ lady here Heather shes Flyer even builds her own stuff as well aslo Sassy and a few others as for meeting them well thats just luck of the draw

I think Patty Wagstaff has some interest in R/C models but is too busy flying wings off full scale aerobatic ships. My married daughter still likes all kinds of mechanical stuff probably because I bought her a Marx train set, took her to R/C Club meetings, took her with me on motorcycle rides, etc, etc. She seems to have gotten a lot of my talents and interests perhaps by genetics.

It's not just airplanes. Take a look around at the women you know. How many of them have any kind of 'toy'?

Women don't seem to need 'toys' like us boys. Nor is it a generational thing. Once girls become women, the toys are relagated to the past. I've seen this happen with my daughter who is 19. My bride of 22 years has no toys nor is she interested in mine.

My son, 21, likes his toys, mostly digital electric stuff like computers, etc.

Further, I do not know any women who has 'toys'. I think my wife sometimes thinks I am immature due to my fascination with e-planes. On the other hand she A) knows where I am, B) knows what I'm doing and C) knows there are no women within 5 miles of R/C.

She once said if I ever met another woman who has an e-plane, plays the piano and rides a bike, she'd better start worrying.

Go figure...
