For normal viewing purposes you only really need 25 or 30fps (which seems to be the standard for most cameras these days). Some companies offer other frame-rates and resolutions (like the S80's 1024x768 at 15fps, or the A620's 320x240 at 60fps....)

Less mess with outrunner, more power and efficiency with inrunner.

are the inrunners more noisy and do they cause more vibration?

Cool mount

How would glassing it *save* weight though? Unless the glassfibre is helium-filled

How much does it weigh as it is?

I use a himax 2816-0890 on my SS and A620 and can fly at a 45 degree angle and also stay in the air for over 12 min. with a 3s 1200mah lipo. The motor and esc were kinda pricey though. I recommend trying www.bphobbies.com for cheap alternatives. An outrunner will be much quieter than a inrunner but no difference in vibration.

Stock SS rock on there own, but if you wanna go brushless I recommend the nippy 1812 (outrunner), 25amp speed controller, 2000mah 3cell lipo and a 10*4.7 prop. When I used my SS for AP this is what I used. I could pull of 20odd minute flights and climb out damn near vertical (32oz slow stick, that combo puts out 30oz of thrust). Plus the nippy is bullet proof, and not too bad $$ wise. I am using the same setup on my current flying wings for AP.

Just stuff to chew over, pics look really good.

Curt

Edit: Woops, didn't see that you had all your brushless junk sorted out....just ignore the above information then....except the part about your pics, defiantly some nice quality for a first time outing.

heres my setup

gws D gearbox with Feigao 1308434S ( http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id...49&pid=U969152)

HS-55 servos

berg 7

tp 2100 3s

castle creations 18 amp esc

Midwest Carbon Fiber .080 40" Rod

6.1amps 23.7 oz thrust with gws 1365 prop
5.3amps 20.5 oz thrust with 1260 prop

i can take off in about 3 feet with 1365 prop , its kinda hot to the touch when i land so i need a heat sink. ive only flown it 10 min per flight and i just have to put 1000 mah back in. it can climb at about a 45 degree angle at sea level.

its really wierd when you climb, its like the wings dont generate any lift at all. im thinking about using packaging tape to make the wing flat on the bottom, that might help. if you want more power this motor should work (http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...rodID=EFLM1100)my camera and mount only add 6 oz with lithum AA's so the auw is probubly 21-25 oz

Try a 11x7 prop and see if the heat goes down. You should still have plenty of power with an 11" prop and it may drop the amps so that it will keep cooler.

Same suggestion. Try a smaller prop and it should be a lot cooler. Great shot on the pics. Do you live next to a school, cause that's a nice flying field you have there.

ya its only 2 blocks away. i tried a 1260 prop and it had allot of vibration. it might just be that the prop got bent or needs to be balenced. ill try to get the vid up today to show u guys how much vibration there is
