The club runs every Sunday as well as Wednesday, I dont go to Wed. work gets in the way of that , we are going to alternate Saterday / Sundays, to allow people with Sunday commitments to have a weekend running day, Located Tygum Rd, Waterford West, Brisbane, Australia for anyone in Brisbane who wants to come for a look.

I like the idea of alternating the weekend day schedule.

Todays run at the pond, A couple of new faces and boats. Beautiful autumn weather 27 Deg light winds.
I sailed my IOM with new jib, kevlar fibre at the attachment points, have to make a new main now. Still working on my Kingfisher.

Are there any restrictions on power setups at all??
The lake I usually run on at Boondall cannot use lipo or gas. I am only electric but am starting to go over to lipo in small monos for a bit of fun.
What time do you guys kick off??

No restrictions on electric, only no fuel, eg petrol or nitro boats. Noise cited as the main reason. usualy start around 9 am but many arrive anytime after 7 am and usualy finnish around midday. Why the lipo restriction at boondall? Im not sure many of our members have even heard of lipo . We have a designated area for fast electric, scale and sail. Seperated for safety to each other. We dont have many fast electric guys, not enough to organize races etc I would like that to change even if its not my interest.

Insurance and local council forced us to have fencing, worried about somebody tripping over boats or equipment, insurance will cover boat within compound, also its a public park so we cant have any permanent structure. And here I was thinking all this sort of stuff came from the US insurance situation bleeding over here .

we're just a little to far south for crocs although the late Steve Irwin's zoo is 100 kms north of here. the lake has no through flow and is full of carp hence the wonderful colour

Thanks for the clarification Umi, I was confused there for a second!!

Ever since I built my little mini mono and put a lipo in it, I was chastised a little bit down the lake by the guys who say I cannot use it there, I suspect it is too new of a thing for them as well. Being that the Boondall lake is overly owned by the Brisbane city council, they have apparently seen it fit that lipo is a health hazard or something of that nature(in some lights I can see their point). Not to say I don't do it, just not on a Saturday when the boat club is there, I would assume it is a public liability thing or something similar, it is also amazing how many think they are just going to blow at any given second.

Now that all that is out of the way, I only have a couple of electric powered craft and will endeavour to get down your way soon Nick, looks like a cracker of a spot, thanks for the great info.

Ask them if they allow cell phones near the water. If they do, they are allowing LiPo batteries... Submerging LiPo's is not lethal to them, just retrieve the boat. Someone should point this stuff out to the BCC...
