24/12 Strontium Ferrite Motor - Equivalent to Direct Drive Cobalt Motors
Motor Cells RPM Prop Amps
24/12 6-8 9,700 9x6 28
The output of these motors from the area formerly known as Czechoslovakia is almost equal to a Cobalt motor, with greater efficiency, at less than half the price. The motor is well made and similar in quality to a European-made Cobalt motor such as the Graupner Ultra. The motor is made with dual ball bearings and a 5mm shaft. The Strontium Ferrite magnet is very strong and resistant to demagnetization, so it will last a long time. To get the best performance from this motor, we suggest a long break-in period.
Two versions are available. The 24/12 motor is designed for 6-8 cells, and the 24/16 is designed for 7-10 cells.
We have found the 24/12 to be a great choice for the modeler looking for a good 7-cell motor. The power output is good and the pulling power with the 9x6" prop is almost the equal to a direct drive Cobalt motor. We find these motors to be a bargain for the price-conscious modeler. The 24/12 motor system works well on any 7-cell sailplanes.
24/12 Strontium Ferrite Motor $69.95 (new)
My price after re-gluing a magnet with JB weld - (works fine when attached to test battery)
$35 plus actual minimal shipping
In case you thought I was really into my strontium motors, I copied the above text from a hobby shop website
