Am I wrong in saying that the AT-6 is like the Harvard trainer used by the South African Air Force?

Drusky,

Yes, that is the same plane. I think the export versions were called Harvards, and the domestic (USA) versions were Texans.

I went back and looked at my GWS-38 EB shipment. I got the shipping notice on 9/27/06 (a Wednesday) and received the kit on 10/2/06 (a Monday). Based on that infromation, and the fact that there was a Sunday in there (no USPS deliveries), I project that I will receive my kit this Saturday, Monday at the latest. Oh boy I can't wait.

My At-6 is flying, in the hold of Thai Airways Flight TG637, that departed from Taipai Airport at 8:45 Taipai time. The Flight No was in my tracking information.

So Pat the great race is on again!.

Hi Pat,

I'd believe your AT-6 will land at your door steps earlier as all of EB GWS-38's were grounded at Chinese custom and somewhere in China for more than 24 hours before getting on board, while these AT-6's just only took a few hours for being on board in Taiwan.

Hi UH-1H,

You'd be the first pilot of AT-6 in Singapore.

Curious, I put in the tracking number May emailed me this morning, but so far I get "No Tracking information available". I sure hope mine's not lost in the shuffle somewhere.

Thank you Pat,

The Harvard is loved by almost all aviation enthusiast here. Not too long ago our airforce sold off pretty much their entire fleet of Harvard training aircraft. Many private buyers here picked up lovely examples for absolutely silly prices.

GWS would do well to make sure that their AT-6 makes it over here soon.

I'm delighted to see the larger wingspan, almost 40" is a nice size. Go GWS!

It may be a little premature as I have not yet received the kit, but I wanted to at least get the thread started:

Hi Drusky,

Its wingspan is 1000mm (39.37"). Those pictures were great !
Don't forget telling your local hobby shops placing orders of GWS AT-6 or Harvard for you.
