Yea, and shipping to Canada is $33. Bleh. Good thing another LHS here can do special order for me (can only get EPS ver), so I don't have to pay that ridiculous shipping .

Either version is a great choice. My first T-6 was eps. my eps and epo versions use the same electronics no problem. Let us know how it goes for you.

I have an Easy Glider Electric, but I'm still a bit nervous about flying it. So far, I've only flown it on calm days. Either my EasyStar or my Sky Scooter should be fine though. I'm used to flying those in fairly windy weather too.

Planning to use Turnigy 2213-20t 1050KV + an assortment of 1800-2200mAh LiPos + Thunder Tiger 40A ESC (left over from one of my helis that I crashed .) Also 4x HXT900 servos with 3A UBEC (these servos are cheap, but they draw a lot of current..)

Guys I have started making the icing on the cake for the scale modeler, check it out. Wheel chocks for RC perfect for the car trunk, truck bed or working on a table top. I make them to size price is cheap. Help me fund my addiction to RC. thanks http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1142798

Hi Guys,

Just got myself an EPO version and this is my first low wing. Lots of great info here.

A couple of questions:

> can I glue the fuse together without the stick mount? That is, can I glue the stick mount AFTER the fuse has been glued together?

> how do you guys smoothen the joint along the fuse to prepare it for painting?

Thanks!
JS

welcome, you have just purchased a great flying plane, durable also. yes you can glue in the stick later if you must, just make sure it will fit in there before the glue dries all the way. you might be able to knock down the seam with a little sandpaper. i lightly sand my seams, just don't over do it. keep us posted on your progress. my epo t6 is one of my favorite flyers.

Thanks ryramZ.

Yes, this is a nice plane. Fellow flyers at the field advised me to get a Corsair (I did, but its a 1/48 scale static model kit from Academy, which, by the way, is off very poor quality/fit so if you are into this hobby, better to go with Tamiya and Hasegawa for WW2 warbirds). However, its quite common around here and I like the versatility of the T6 paint scheme. Its a nice size so it's more visible for an intermediate beginner like me.

That's good new. I will carry on with the rest of the build and painting. I use Tamiya putty and Mr Surfacer 500 on my static model kits - so I'll try them on epo if necessary. Weather's getting bad around here so flying opportunities are limited up to year end.

Cheers

This is about as far as my scale abilities go, I did the airtronics like my grandfathers full scale T 6, the wheel s are drawn on, and the radial is drawn on with a silver pen. the pilot is a 2 dollar guy from target probably 1:18 scale but looks good. what scale would you say the T 6 is with 39" wingspan?

My reference library gives a wing span of 42 feet and 1/4 inch for the full size T-6 so the math’s are.

Models span 39/12 = 3.25 feet.
Scale = model span/ full size span = 3.25/42 = approximately 1/13 scale. So a 1/12 scale pilot will be close given the all full sized pilots are not the same height.

Here is a very good photo that shows the size of the two pilots compared to the T-6. It also shows the Flaps and the engine details.

Question on motor

Ken, that's a very nice colour scheme. I think I'm going to follow that closely. It helps that I have all the acrylic colours too.

Need your help on the motor please. I know the most ideal motor is a 2215. I have 2 pcs of Turnigy TR 28-30B 14A 1050Kv Brushless Outrunner
lying around and I'm hoping they will work as well.

The motor specs:
Model: TR2830-1050
Max Eff: 12A
Max Load: 14A
Kv: 1050
Weight: 57.9gr
Pull: 400~900gr
Prop: 10x5 or 10x6
Voltage: 6~10v
No Load Curr: .9A
Size : 30mm

Do you think this will work? Will be using a Turnigy Plush 30A ESC and HXT900. Not going for speed. This is my first low wing and I want to take it slow and easy.

Thanks - JS

The motor choice looks good, its the same KV and weight as the GWS 2215. But save some weight and money. Get a TURNIGY Plush 18amp Speed Controller http://www.unitedhobbies.com/unitedh...eed_Controller

The motor you have selected has a max Amp draw of 14 Amps so a 30 Amp ESC is not needed. A 30 Amp ESC will not give you any more power and it will reduce the performance of the model because of its extra weight.

Here are some more photos Of 44 and friends.
