Bruce T. showed up mid-afternoon, soon after conditions picked up. I guess that makes him the smartest of us all. We had some pretty good air. Bruce topped out at 285 with a D80 and I got to 246 with a Wizard. It makes for a lot of flying when two guys keep taking turns.

Hmm, guess I just missed Frank. I was in town for a different event over the weekend
and went up to Weldon to fly today by myself. I didn't have a radar gun but it felt like 200-230mph air with a D60. Drove the R32 up to the top again. ![]() I'll probably fly again sometime tomorrow, and then leave from there to head home. ian |

Today
I havnt made it up the hill for quite a while. Today i heard about 3 persons made the trip. Sounds like we are in for the hot summer lower but predictable winds affected by thermals to some degree. Hope to see some freinds on the hill for some lighter DS this summer. Give me a call i can meet you up there.

Bruce and I were up there. It was light, gusty, and thermally. It was flyable for the light ships. Bruce naturally tore the sky up with his Opus. I got some much needed practice with the Beevo, the Stinger 45, and I went 93 mph with the Pike Giant.
We left around 4. The wind seemed stronger as I went by the lake on the way home. Maybe it was getting better just after we left!! |
