You know... some of this may be backfiring. I have a son in the Army. While he was in Afghanistan he'd call once a week (most of the time) and drop "hints" about what he wanted or needed and I'd pick it up, put in the box with a Sunday paper or two (and various other goodies) and send it off. He's back now and with all these discounts available to him, he orders for himself and the joy of supporting my soldier is--less.

As he approaches a redeployment we're wondering if anybody extends their discounts to family?

You could contact the vendor that has the discount and purchase your son a gift certificate. He can then order what he wants from that certificate.

Just an idea.

I'm CONUS and I've ordered from Hobby People in the past and they shipped free in CONUS. I don't think its a policy of theirs but I was glad they did it. If you order by phone you might want to ask.

I make this offer a lot in the slope forum, but this might be a good place too.

Military members or family of military who are now or have been to Iraq or Afganistan, or both like my buddy, I have an offer.

A few times a year I take a military family to Disney land. I like to see the joy on their faces, knowing the hells they have faced.

So PM me if you or someone you know deserves a day at the happiest place on earth, and I will give you more details.

By the way a one day pass to both parks is $92.00 for one adult, I believe.

Laine,

I'm glad to hear the builder of massive wings is back to building again. L8NATE doesn't have the Super Fly anymore but he sure talks about it. He is a good instructor and he continues to teach others here to fly. He is just arriving back from R & R, he went to Australia. I saw the video you made of the monster wing, nice work... Take care and one day hope to see you at a comp or just a flying field.

John
