The speed control you asked about will only work with a "brushed" motor, or a motor that has "brushes". the motor I recommended....http://www.toddsmodels.com/Motors/e...rs/EFLM1130.htm
is a "out-runner" motor, it has no brushes, and requires a "brushless" ESC. The battery you asked about is far too heavy for your plane. This plane must be kept light !! Your motor and prop should weigh no more than 24 grams, and your battery no more than 30 grams, and your speed control not more than 12 grams. The total weight for your plane, with the battery, ready to fly, is 200 grams maximum...no more.
Is there anyone else near his country that can lead him to the right equipment ??

Neil,

I understood. I asked because I donīt have knowledge enough to do that. Iīll try to import, Iīll take a look at the Toddsmodels site to see if they can send it to me.

Letīs see:

My plane already covered weighs ----> 65gr
eflite 250 -----> 14gr
phoenix 10 -----> 6gr
2 HS50 -----> 12gr
+ lipo ------> 25gr
------------------
122 gr..

I saw in the plan the estimated weight is between 3.5 - 4 oz... mine will be
a few more....

Your plane will be OK up to 200 grams...just not as slow as it was designed to be...this is the learning curve..build...fly..build again better...fly...make changes...build again..fly..crash..make stronger...ect.

Fun yes ??

Yes Neil, you are 100% correct...

but I have a Tipsy (from Hobby Lobby), do you know? It weighs 320 grams and to me Neil, it flies slow. I can not imagine how slow the Starlite was designed for stoped in the air??

Luis, Neil, here might be a great brushless motor for the StarLite. Check out the 10 gram silver colored motor in the first post:

Please keep in mind that evenn though this motor is light, The rated thrust is about five ounces! The reccomended weight of the StarLite should be five ounces or less. If you were to acheive this ( and it would be much easier than if you used a much heavier motor) you would still have a nearly one to one power to wight ratio! Far more power that the original design had yet with a top speed that will not be fast as the motor is only rated about 5500rpms giving ( I am told) a flying speed of around 25 MPH. Just right for the design of this plane in my opinion.

Neil, Not finished yet but trying to get the warp out of the danged wing! Sems I need a third hand to do it. trying to impose the corrective flex and hold the heat gun is quite a handfull. Fact is it just isin't working yet. I am thinking of a way to hold the heat gun in place and then have both hands free to work the wing panel.

If I had a shop with a bench vise I could use that. I might ask around with some house owners to see if I can find one to use. I live in a furnished apartment and have no shop to speak of. Mostly just a few hand tools and a dremel.

find yourself a weighted "flexable tube" like they use to excercise older people with, and place the center section on a counter with 2/3rds of the wing panel hanging over the end of the counter. place the weighted beanbag on the center section to hold it in place and twist away. These things can be used for ankle weights, wrist weights, ect. and usually have velcro straps on them. sporting good stores, ect.

Frequently warps are an inevitable result of variances in coverings, but also building technique can play a role. Next time you build consider getting a chunk of ceiling tile from a builder's supply and pin the parts down to it so they stay immobile as the glue dries. The top of the ceiling tile is flat, ensuring that your parts come out flat and it readilly accepts pins.

Itīs 4 grams lighter than the eflite 250... Do you really think, 4 grams in the final weight will make so much difference in the Staliteīs performance? If so, is there a kind of combo for it (esc+battery)?

My plane already covered weighs ----> 65gr
eflite 250 -----> 14gr
phoenix 10 -----> 6gr
2 HS50 -----> 12gr
+ lipo ------> 25gr

122 gr..

Tks!

Luis The grams saved won't be a lot that is true but look at it this way, any weight saved is weight saved! Thus lighter wing loading! Another way to look at this would be that the Eflite 250 weighs about 40 percent more than the little silver motor and yet the little silver motor puts out 140 grams of thrust!

This would put your model weight at 118 grams thus giving you greater than one to one power to weight ratio!

Not sure of the cost of the Eflite 250 but the price sure is right for the little silver motor! I think about half that of the Park 250.
