The Wombat - 3D Fun Flyer. Plans, Build Guide & videos
Here are a couple of vids of "The Wombat"
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...08#post7129192 It's my first design and I'm really happy with the way it flies. Solid hovers, solid Harriers, great Knife Edge and no nasty characteristics. It makes a great 3D trainer and flies nice lines. I was thinking about starting a thread with the plans and build guide. Would ne1 be interested? |

4 takers already!! I'm stoked.
I will get the plans ready for posting over the weekend. I will do a build guide as well. Construction is quick and easy. The wing is 3mm depron folded in half with a balsa spar. The fuse is 6mm depron with 2 carbon spars, then skinned with 3mm. It goes together very quickly and it's a nice simple build. I'm looking forward to seeing you guys get it into the air. It really is a great throw about plane for the car boot. I'm a lousy pilot and this plane makes me look good

Thanks for the compliments Guys.
I took it for another rip in the park this morning in nil wind conditions. WooHoo!! I love it. She really is a heap of fun and a real confidence building plane. There's no stress even when its really close to the ground cos you always know what it's gonna do next.It's 30" span Motor Axi 2212/34 Prop 10 x 4.7 Speedie 18A Jeti Servos are eflight S75's Battery Hyperion 1200mAH 3S 20C but it also flies nicely on 1000mAH 3S 15C Not sure of the AUW, my scales are busted. I'll weigh it on a mates scales at the weekend. It's quite light, but could be lighter. (couldn't they all) Plans and guide will be up by Monday. It's my project for the weekend.  Mick |
