You'll always wish for more space in a model this size. Thats what made the Escape such a popular model, it was easy to fit everything in!

The same concept will make the Stilleto equally popular. It'll be a piece of cake to put everything in and acheive balance.

Also, in my experience owning both the SR VII and the Escape, the Escape is a little more robust.

Wanting to get more power in my escape, currently have a 2w-20 and a 3s 2600 Pro Lite pack. The pro lite pack is about maxed out so any power increase requires a new battery. I'd like to stick with 4.7 or 5 inch props. Should I try 4s on the 2w-20 or get another motor also? If I get a neu I'd like to also use it in an f5d plane(maybe with an extra cell?). Is this is a good idea? What about an 1110-3d?

I wouldn't go smaller then an 1112, but an 1115 would be best (or MEGA 16/35 or 16/40. Basically equal lead time). I love my 1112-2D, which by todays standards is basically equal to the 1112-1Y. Perfectly happy on 3s with a 5.25x6.25 or 5.5x5.5 and 60s of continuous WOT (with good cooling). This is 1100-1200W static and 750-800W inflight. The 1115-1.5D would be a great choice for either 3s with a 5" prop or 4s and F5D power with a 4.75x4.75 prop. With todays Lipo voltages it may be better, if going 4s, to go with the 1115-2D and then suit the prop to the system (probably 5.5x5.5 would yield ~1000W).

Two other great options would be

Medusa Research 28-56-2800 (available through NEU motors)
Ritewing Rockett 28-56-2800 (available through the user "klique" on RCG)

They are the similar motors, to the best of my knowledge, based on the old Medusa 28-56-2800V2, which was one of the most powerful 28mm motors available (single phase resistance of something like 4 mOhm). Both of these motors would work on 3s with a big prop (6x6), but would be better on 4s with a 5" prop

Theres a whole load of options for you. None of which you could go wrong with.

Toying with ideas about how to power the stilleto/escape clone..

Thinking -
4S 1900 45C hyperions
ICE 75 lite
GM 4.7x4.7 folder
Either a mega 16EDF, or a Mega 16/20/2

Whatya rekon?

Id like something a touch faster than my voodoo (16-15-2 on 3S), the escapletto is larger, so something ~180mph would be nice, all while keeping it on a resonable diet.

My Escape bit the dust really hard at SEFF this weekend. During the speed event I had an aileron let go. Dont know if it was the sevo arm or what and will probably never no since there was very little left after the probably 160+ low lwvel half barrel roll into the ground. I think I got the throttle off but not sure.

Ill send the reciever back for inspection but believe it is the only thing that survived. Total loss of ESC motor and 4s TP 45c battery 3 servos reciever pack. I have a pic of the hole. Ill get out later.

I wish the Stilleto wasnt so much as I enjoyed the Escape.

My condolences again Jeff.

I was there guys--it happened during the insanity of the "Extreme Speed" half-hour. I was flying my own plane and heard the tell tail "foomp" hard into the earth. I knew somebody bit it, but didn't know who as I had my hands full. I wish I would have been flying at a different time so I could have seen you fly your Escape before it was too late.

Nice to meet you Jeff.

Tim

Bummer Jeff, always happens eventually doesn't it.

BTW I saw the Stiletto at Toledo and its definitely different, narrower wing cord and more curl on the wing tips, but its a nice lookin' bird!

Well its true that all airplanes have an expiration date. It was just its turn at the speed run.

I didnt take any pics of the wrechage but here is a pic of the hole where the ESC and motor were. took a good 5 mins to dig it out as I had to use a prop blade to dig around it.

Tim nice meeting you too. The rifle did very well and I believe you guys will sell alot of them. Glad you had a good time at SEFF its a ball.

Here is the pics. By the way the spar wasnt broken just the skin around it was gone.
