Invader tug build

Hi everybody,

Sorry I have'nt been posting picturs lately but I been pretty buzy building boats. I completly built 3-boats in the last 5 mounths, A Hartman tug for a member in our club, And this Harbor models Invader for a client, And a fiberglass Dumas Brooklyn for me that I squeezed in between the builds.

This Invader is a very big and heavy boat around 60 lbs. I didnt get to run it on the water cause all the lakes were froze up around here at the time and the owner has allready picked it up. I would of love to see it run. He used two pitman motors at about 3500 rpm but very strong and torquey motors.
Well I know you want pics so here we go!

LongBike:

Would you like to come to my house for a visit? 3 boats in 5 months I could use a hand like that.
Great work as the pictures show. Will we get to see the other builds?

It seems that the Harbor Models Models are very undetailed or unfinished as kits go. I have read on several posts of this. I am disappointed to say the least. I wonder who is making up these kits?

Longbike... nice looking build

Don...I built/finished Harbor's Pacific Escort a few months ago and was very happy with the finished tug. I added a few details, tow winch, but the kit came fairly complete with deck/fittings hardware, again the drawings were alittle unclear, I would build another Harbor kit, the Barbara K. has me interested for something different

Longbike,

We would have loved to see all five of those boats, and your Titanic built up to launch day. Great work!

Hi Umi,
Man I really loved your Tito Neri build that is beautiful. I pick up one of those kits with everything included the Z drives and accesserys kit and even the servos for the steering for a song,
The person just started the combing and decided it was to much and sold it to me for $400.00 As soon as I get this Brooklyn finished I will start on it along with this Caldercraft "Marrie Felling" Im building now for a client.

Sorry I didnt go thru the build on here but its a mater of time thing between a new job and 4 month old baby and building boats for others and tring to squeeze one in for myself.
But I will try to for this Marie felling boat I just started.

Jeff

Model looks nice. If you don't mind though there are a few things incorrect that I would like to point out as the drawings Harbor sends does not show this.
The funnel on Crowley boats is always RED ( known as red stacks)
Rear wall of maindeck house should be set in 8 feet (scale) with a access point to the top of the deck house opening on the Starboard side where the life raft is located. Should be painted Crowley Yellow ( Itallian yellow) also. The deck house should be sitting farther forward. these boats are known for their extremely long aft decks ( usally wet as the boats sit heavy in the water).
The stern winches are WAY to small and should fit under the deckhouse over hang. The forward winch is way to big as it should be a single drum only.
There is no door from the captains cabin out on to the deck house on any of the boats as that is where the rescue rear and life boat is stowed along with other lockers.
If any one else needs info to correct the Harbor info please contact me and I will send photos if needed
The model you did is still done very nicely!!!
