Equipment arrived

The missing video transmitter / receiver arrived yesterday. In addition my I-Vision goggles arrived. So many new toys at once :)

Connected camera and transmitter to OSD module and everything works fine!

Regarding the goggles, they seem to dislike the video signal the OSD module generates in full image mode, see http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=647217. At first I panicked a bit, but it seems that everything will behave well in the real application where the background is the camera image.

GPS, the camera and the transmitter all operate on 5V. I all feed them from the voltage regulator on the OSD board. Complete consumption is over 700 mA and the linear regulator is getting real hot. I replaced it with a switching regulator from Dimension Engineering.

What camera did you end up using? I am looking for a good 5v camera. Thanks

It is a KX131. Many people use that one. All video-gear is from RangeVideo.

Nice Project

You really got my attention with your project

I'm working on a RC boat project so I can contour ponds that I fish.
I now have it so the fishfinder sends the data to an old tape recorder.
when I'm in my John Boat. When I get done I plain to have it so the
equipment fits in the RC boat and send data back via RF signal. to my Laptop.
The GPS location and depth of the water. It would be nice to have the
distance plotted on my screen at the same. Would you be willing to
share you PIC program with me ?
I just got done with a OSD Pic16F88 Project that give the ID of a remote link
between two ATV repeators one in Dayton and one Columbus. It was just a single line of text.
I have another OSD the has serial input . I has single line of text but with
scrolling text.
