3D Hobby Shop 47" Extra 300 SHP

The Extra 300 SHP is designed for all out 3D flight. The Extra 300 was developed around a wing that has a thinner airfoil with very accurate, sharp LE that makes for a great stall breakaway and very precise flying airplane. To better understand this concept there has been an excellent thread started here that talks to this topic. The posts in this thread clearly illustrate the benefits to 3D flight that a thinner airfoil wing can have on a 3D airplane. What this all comes down to is a 3D plane that will be rock solid in high alpha flight modes, can be flown at slower speed with out the fear of a tip stall and a plane that someone can build confidence in very quickly.

One of the things I notice with new planes when they get announced is there is never any video to see how the plane actually flys. Not to be the case however with the new 3D Hobby Shop Extra 300 SHP. Here is a little "teaser" video for you.

So many good planes coming out. Which one to choose? This has a beautiful color scheme to it, probably one of the best I have seen on the new balsa ARFs.

Question, Does it require the 45A ESC, or will the older Airboss 35A work on this motor-plane combo?

AB 35's work fine. The development planes all flew on Airboss 35 ESCs for months. no problems.

So how does this plane compare flying-wise to the Extreme Flight edge, or Extra? I am looking into upgrading from foamies into a plane in this size range, and all of these planes look very similar in my eyes, and I have read most all of the threads for these planes, but can't decide.

EXtra 300 SHP ARF

Extra SHP with Torque/Airboss Power Set.

Again, we're using nothing but the best - Torque and AirBoss components - in our new Extra SHP. These motors are consistently the most durable we use and have the perfect specs for this size airplane. Also, customer service on Torque and AirBoss parts is second to none.

Other motor choices we've used are E-Flite power 10 and 15, Hyperion 3013 and 3019, and Torque 2814-820. The 2818T-900 remains my favorite.

The ESCs we're supplying in all of our airplane combos now are the new AirBoss Elite 45Amp ESC. You can use up to 5S with no external BEC required.

Nice looking plane and nice video too.

Are you going to have a combo including the power set, servos, and battery?

Yes, a few more details to work out on that one, but it will definitely be available with servos, pack, extensions, etc.

I love the fact that it uses the same components as your other two planes.
Will there be a color choice?

Well just got off the phone with ben--one backordered, with one of the new hyperion spinners, and the necessary servo extensions.

Only trouble is going to have to wait on the EF edge now--the money I saved for the edge--just went to the SHP

Going to go with a 2814-820, 14X7 on a 3s setup.

Now the wait begins!

Won't be long... and it will be well worth the wait.
