The build was a bit tricky on the trainer wing because the bottom isn't flat. I proceeded like the SSX wing for half of the wing and then I used some small plastic clamps to hold the dihedral former in place and supported the leading and trailing edge pieces on blocks so that the second half of the wing was flat on the table. I noticed on both wings that it is easy to develop some wing twist because of the absence of flat surfaces. If you get the glue up right, you had better be careful in covering or you can get a twist there also. My problem on both wings was the tips. No close up photography for my wing tips...ha ha.

James, I just ordered a set of the new x-gear. I re-broke the old x-gear the other day doing some stupid stuff with my SSX when the ground came up too fast and snapped the CF in it

X-Gear status:

The mold for the X-Gear is being made in China. We have received two rounds of samples. The first round was a little rough and required some corrections to the mold and minor engineering changes to improve the strength of the main strut. The mold is now 98% complete and is in transit to Indiana where the X-Gear will be produced. My supplier in Indiana will make the final adjustments to the mold and start production hopefully this coming week. I have all the screws and carbon prepped and ready for final packaging. I also have all backorder envelopes prepared with postage.

I am sorry for the delays. We just want to make sure this product is perfect.

I have been testing the sample parts and I am sure everyone will be very happy with the new X-Gear.

Thanks for the order Jeff

Hi Tram
I have been working on the Micro Biplane. I am still debating whether or not to do another GWS dependent design. It's getting real difficult to get GWS parts.

Hello, been lurking on this thread for awhile... and...

I couldn't stand it any longer and ordered a Slow Stick X Build Kit Bundle.
Will I be getting the updated X-Gear and will this delay shipment of my order?
Thats ok if it does, cuz it's not flying weather here anyway.
would much prefer to get the new X-Gear...
My regular SS with many mods is my favorite plane, really looking forward to the SSX...

It will not be much longer. The mold is on the way to the US now via Air freight.
