Hello there! Is there anybody flew this ARF from global-electric version? It's going to be on sale "in-store" at Hobbypeople starting friday for $59.99!!! It's regulary $99.99-it can be gas or electric-using the 7.2 400 geared motor-can go from 3 to 4 channel. I inspected it and the ailerons are already installed!! I just don't know how it flies. Wattage Hawk will be on sale too for guess what-$39.00 bucks!!! With that kind of price-I'll build me a squadron-just kidding!!

Ive been thinking about the same plane.

I've never flown or own a low wing plane before but I guess if I start with the 7.2 geared 400, it'll fly slow enough to practice on-the manufacturer tried using 450 turbo from Multiflex and it does all kinds of aerobatics!! But that's for later!

Well for that kind of money I will get one. I have heard good things about it but I think it needs more than a speed 400 geared, the plane is pretty big, I am considering using my 7 turn Cermark Colbalt on an APC 7x5. I will see how it flys,

A friend of mine had one of those converted to E-power. He tried many motor battery combos and the thing never really flew well. The best it flew was on a buggy motor direct drive and an 8X6 prop. Even then it was very squirrely on take off and it landed like a brick. The airframe is built for gas after all. Another problem it has are those tiny tips. It tip stalls like a mother if you try to slow it down. After the thing crash several times he said screw it and bought a bigger ARF warbird, a Model Tech ME-109 for 40 sized gas. It flies great on 12 cells. Much more fun than struggling with the FW-190. Check it out at: http://www.rcezine.com/March2001/electrics.html

Boy am I glad there is E-zone to connect to you guys! Thanks much Troy for the info. It's just too tempting-there's not much to assemble on this one-and it's not that big at 35" wingspan, 22-26 oz. weight-it's not much heavier than my ferias using the standard 380 geared motor and it flies great!! Anybody else have the same experience as Troy's friend before I change my mind???

It was after I emailed Troy that he told me not to get one. So once the Zone and company save the day.

a friend of mine has this plane with a turbo 450 and 8x800ar cells. i have flown it. it neads a hard launch, once up to speed it flies ok. it has the nastiest stalls i have ever seen! and i used to fly a cap 21 (snap 21)

Same thing my friend experienced. It did require quite a hard bungee launch, and landed fairly quickly. He increased the area if the horizontal to get better stability. He hasnt flown it in quite some time though.

When I first saw the FW-190 at the store, I was turned off by that horrible wing design.
I guess I am spoiled by my own FW-190A .

Some time ago I saw a guy at my field slam the Global FW-190 into the ground almost right after takeoff, he was using a car motor & some astronomic wing loading.

Thanks guys for the input, that's my cue to stay away from this plane!! I think you should do the same CUE! No wonder they're lowering the price on this plane! AND THE SEARCH CONTINUES.......
