After a long time of owning the kit I'm finally making my FW-190 while I wait for parts for my AP/FPV ship.

I've decided I want to build her beefy like all my planes so I'm going with a little strong motor than normal. Here are the specs:

battery: either a 3s 15C 1600mah longg-max or a 3s 25C 2250mah longg-max
motor mount: GWS stick aluminum mount
motor: Suppo 2217/09 70g 950KV 5-15A op 16A max swinging a GWS 10x6 HD
motor static numbers: 10.8V 15.1A 162Watt 8340RPM 47.4 mph 938gr(33.03oz) thrust.

If this setup is not fast enough I'll swap the motor out for a higher KV and bump up the pitch speed

RX: Corona RD620
servos: Hextronics 9g
BESC: Suppo 40A

Wing is gluing as I write this. The project may take some time because I will switch back to my AP/FPV plane once the parts come in but I'll throw some pics up as it goes along.

I used a Scorpion 3008-28 motor in my FW-190. This motor produces 300watts.....a little over powered but you just need to throttle back.

The power setup specs for this plane are:
Batt - 2100ma 20c 3s
Controller - CC25
motor mount - see photo
Prop - APC 10x4.7sf
motor - Scorpion 3008-28

motor specs - full power, static
10.83v, 28.09A, 304W, 8655rpm, ~42oz thrust

rec - CC/Berg 4L
servos - (4)HS-55

AUW - 21.5oz w/o batt || 26.6oz w/batt

Steve,
We have flown the FW a couple more times this morning. What a great plane.....it flys great. Get yours built, so we can get together for a little flying this winter.

I would put some kind of support for the tail wheel wire in the rudder. If you don't, the wire will wallow out a hole in the foam and rudder movement will suffer.

Thanks for the advice. I do use a version of support though. a ton of 15 minute epoxy in the hole . In practice the rudder stays strong with no problems after many many flights.

I finished up the FW190 this morning. I decided to over prop her a bit so I'm running a APC E 9x9 prop. Maiden will happen when the weather clears up. So far I really like the plane.

Hi Ceeray, great video! Your 190 looks fantastic, especially with the 3 bladed prop. I read your post where you said you made the back part of the spinner with blue foam and fibreglass. Could you describe how you did it? It looks great.
