I could not find a GWS 2215/12 in stock on any internet suppliers web site so I have ordered this slightly larger and heavier KD A22-15M brushless outrunner motor When it arrives I will make some tests to see what propellers wil be most suitable.

James said the GWS 2215\12 is a little underpowered I'm wondering if an M005 4600 KV with a gearbox would fly one with authority. Anyway I'm jelous.

No motor at all - its a Powered Scale Soarer - I'm going gliding. If I do fit a motor later I'm expecting the 3XX motor will be out by then.

I have a 2212 in my PT17 and while I'm in no doubt it would fly the 190 I'd be looking for more grunt if I wanted it to have the sort of performance that my other powered warbirds have, so I think Ken is right in trying something different. If its coming in at around 25oz auw I think it'll need around 200W input to pick up its skirts and go. My other warbirds use 4200-4500Kv 2015 geared inrunner equivalents and they have 120-150W input but they obviously wouldn't pull this much bigger bird with the same authority.

Hey Ken,

I am currently using that exact motor.

In Canberra (2500feet above sea level) 10x6 GWS HD pulls 16ish amps and around 160 watts with a 3s (10.9v) These numbers are approximately the same with an APC 10x4.7SF prop.

9x5 cam folder pulls 13 amps 135 watts same lipo.

I am using a eflite power meter.

Have run this motor for a total of about an hour and am happy with it so far.

I currently own three of these motors with one in my tigermoth 400 running a 9x5 prop with a 2s lipo. The performance is excellent and the motor fits the GWS alloy 28mm mounts

In addition you get all the mounting hardware you need including a prop saver with extra o-rings, an extra shaft, gold connectors, shrink wrap, and I beleive an extra c-clip.

I took my first one apart to reverse the shaft and the inside looked decent. Nothing pretty but overall pretty good.

For the price you can not beat the performance and accessories(in my opinion)

Best of luck and if it's not enough there is a larger variant called the KA22-15L that'll easy overpower any gws plane for just $2 more

I've received mine FW190 today
but I've paid customs for 38euros (50$)
and the engine cowling is damaged...
But I'm hurry to begin the assembly, just need to find a nice paint scheme not too difficult to do...

I did mine in a "winter camo". Although you could get by without painting the base white, I did to even it out and to have the cowl match. See my pictures on the FW-190 build thread <http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=7117270&postcount=122>.
