I have a question for you guys, I an running a Turnigy 35-30 1100kv motor with an E-Flite 40 amp esc powered by a 2100 3 cell Li-Po. I have tried an 11x8e APC, 12X6e APC and a 13x8e APC and for some reason I am only getting like 100 watts(or less) going down from the 13x8. Am I missing something here? What do you guys think could be the issue?

Thanks.

Chris.

I Just used MotoCalc to look at your set ups and found that with those larger props you are only running at 45-55% efficiency.

Try a smaller propeller such as the GWS 10 x 6 for thrust or the GWS 9 x 7.5 for speed. These propeller will allow the motor to rev out and give efficiencies of around 75%.

i've got a few more things to do but its almost there, this is my first attempt at airbrushing aswell as putting together a gws kit. Will probably stick with gws kits for a while now as im really impressed with how easily they go together and the end result.

a parkzone p51/spitfire pilot had to defect to the otherside for this build.

should be ready for its maiden by the weekend.
cool paint, nice job. i also was impressed by ease of build, fit and finish. no headaches here. im just missing the swastika. wish they were inc. in kit. anyway good luck with maiden, chuck.

hmmm somthing is fishy here. i ran motor calc also and i also cam up in the 55% range nothing much lower than that. each were pulling around 150watts after losses..
i agree the smaller props will work better for you. that 11x8 should work for you though.

which turnigy is it that you have the black SK or the orange xp.. the reviews show them to have differant kv as i have not tested them yet..

what is the C rating on your battery. how old is the battery.. do the cells balance out.. i am sure you have thought of this but you never know..

anyways later andrew k..

I think something is wrong with MotoCalc lately. I used it several months back and got good results. Using that same data again, nothing matches up and efficiency doesn't go above 40~50%.

You can also get them from early releases of the GWS262 kit, before GWS started peeling them off and throwing them out, before shipping the kits.

Ok, why did GWS omit the swastika on the decal sheet? No speculations please.

I read about this before, I think it is because in some countries you are not allowed to include them at all. I think it we Germany. Not exactly speculation...

They still have them on their ME-109 decal sheet.

This has been brought up before. Some countries do not allow the display of the swastika, even on models, simply for historical accuracy. GWS would have to specifically manage and ship different versions of of the kit with different sticker packages, to satisfy the requirement.

On the 109, this is speculation, but the release is older, and in essence probably does not get the attention of a newer release such as the 262, due to "grandfather clause" obscurity. The world is more politically correct in recent times, than when the 109 was released.

BTW, the 109 decal set is excellent for scale detailers, and actually has many of the small text warnings that were placed on various areas of the full size plane. I'd buy a few, if my LHS had them, or if they were stocked reasonably priced at a reputable online dealer.

On the 262, what upset me was seeing them torn off. A new label release without them whatsoever would have been fine, but to see that you "could" have had them is irritating. I'm not a nazi either, just a scale detailer.
