Question
Home built Radar Gun ?????

Has any one out there built their own radar gun? Are any plans available? Of course it would need to be similar spec to professional radar gun, Stalker et al, or not worth the effort…

Alternatively is it feasible to modify a relatively cheap one like Bushnell Speedster to increase sensitivity and upper speed limit?

Not everybody in the DIY forum is friendly (like over here) but they do know electronics.
Here's a home made gun from one of those posts.

Thanks for the links Dean. Too bad the Ramsey kit is only good for 99mph (plus it would take me a few weeks to drink all that coffee!)

Just wanted you to see that trying to make or modify your own low cost radar gun might not work out all that great or even be worth doing. Now if somebody could figure out how to make a change to the software of a Stalker Pro gun to read up to 350 mph or so you would really have something.
The tech guy at Stalker told me that a change to the software is all it would take.

Writing mathematical software is what keeps me in toys ... perhaps the nice people at Stalker can send me a Pro to work on

Since you're fully stealth on your profile, where are you located? I would be glad to volunteer one of my friends Stalker Pro guns for you to experiment with. Those guys down in San Diego have lots of Stalkers. I am sure you live to far away to borrow mine.

Ha ha, very generous, thanks. Alas, am on the other side of the globe (the cold and wet part - Midlands UK) And I doubt Stalker would release their algorithms & code.
