New Battery for speed 400?

Is each cell 1.2 volts in a pack? Can I run a 10 cell battery on a speed 400 motor. I have a Wingo and a folded 8 cell 11000 battery. I would like an even longer lasting one. Any ideas? Would like the speed 400 connectors from Hobby Lobby on the pack also.

10 cells will give you less duration but more speed. a speed 400 motor will be worn out much faster on 10 cells as the motor will draw more amps. i think your wingo motor is rated for either 6 or 7.2 volts. I would not recommend going above 8 cells.

for more duration, you could use those 1700 4/5 aup nimh cells in 7 cell or 8 cell config. 7 cells will give you more duration.

for mucho duration, ithose 3200+ mah kokam li=polys will give you a stiff neck from looking up at your plane too long. you could also hook up two packs in parallel, i think the wingo can still lift such a pack, and you'll be flying all day. but they do cost a lot and you'll need a new charger.

For NiMH and NiCd batteries, each cell is 1.2 Volts.

If you want more duration, you want to choose a battery with a higher mAH rating.

If you want more power, you want to choose a battery with more cells.

The easiest way to get more duration is to switch from NiCd to NiMH. By switching to a NiMH battery of the same physical size as the NiCd, you nearly double your duration with little or no weight gain.

The other way to get more duration is to use a physically larger battery. Physical size is generally proportional to the capacity of the battery, the mAH rating. However, larger batteries are heavier. The plane may be able to handle the extra weight, but flight performance will usually suffer.
