1/2 Scale Air-Bike Ultralight

Thought you would all like to see the beautiful 1/2 Scale Air-Bike Ultralight designed, built, and flown by Jim Collin at Rancho San Antonio, CA this week. It will be at the Pioneers' & Peninsula Aeromodellers' Electric Flyin in Half Moon Bay, CA on this coming Saturday (28 September 2002).

It was a scarey first flight but Jim brought it home safely. Just an amazing ship.

Jim's best yet!

Must be at least two years since he sent me a video of his developing his 1/4 scale Ryan B7 - a mere parkflier of 127" span and 20lbs! Recall sitting there watching it fly and shaking my head at how that much model was flying around on all of 16 cells.

Then he sent me stuff on his 1/3rd scale Focker DVIII parasol!

The scale detailing on this latest one is staggering even by his standards. Shame he's on the opposite coast, it must be fantastic to watch a model like this fly.

Regards

Dereck
