Rock Crawler - Clod based, Complete w/ 6ch Optic6 radio *SOLD*
Clod based Rock Crawler...
I will include the BRAND new Optic radio I have programmed for it. Only selling because I haven't used it in a year and will be moving soon.
Some short videos:
Specs are as follows:
Brand spankin' new Hitec Optic6 computer radio with Spectra module and Electron 6 Rx.
Left stick = throttle, spring activated to spring to center, will include parts to remove spring and return to ratchet/smooth for aircraft use. Also Rear steering.
Right stick = Front steering, or combined/crab walk with corresponding switch activated.
front independent, rear independent, Switch1 combined, Switch 2 crab walk
Clodbuster axles with locked diffs.
NN Chassis- adjustable wheelbase 4-link from www.thecrawlerstore.com
Modified wheels, narrowed for better tire wrap
Proline Moab crawler tires, zig-zag cut foam for more tire wrap
Traxxas E-Maxx shocks (4), 60wt silicone oil
cut HPI Jeep Rubicon body
6 body posts for support
Tekin Rebel 2 ESC w/ 3a BEC (plenty for 2 high torque servos)
2 Integy 55t Lathe Motors (very high torque, low rpm) 10t pinions
2 HS645MG servos
Electron 6 Rx
I will include a 3000mah 6cell pack as well.
Pics: (NOTE: ESC and Rx batt in pics has been replaced with new Rebel 2)
The body and underbelly are a little scratched up from sliding across rocks, but no damage. It has a very low CG, it stands up at nearly 85° on the rear wheels before tipping over.
Current wheelbase is 14", the chassis has been designed to be completely adjustable. The WB can be extended to 17" for a "Super Class" competition crawler using 40-Series size wheels. Top speed is MAYBE 4mph, it's a true CRAWLER, not a racer. (:
asking $400 obo. price includes shipping to the lower 48 states (US ONLY).
Thanks for looking!

Yeah it's a lot of fun, especially since you can't buy it "as-is" anywhere. It's a conglomeration of customized parts and a chassis kit. Some of the crawlers I've seen are insane, full blown competition crawlers to ultimately detailed scale trucks.
I built it up, probably spent about 6 hours driving it (nice and slow over silly terrain that's difficult to even walk on) and then left it alone for about a year. Now it just neets to go. ): Someone else can keep having fun with it, now!

hehe, yeah, technically it's a no-no. So then all us pilots who do range checks and take off from the ground are all breaking the law, right?
Anyways, it's been sold. Thanks for the comments, hopefully the new owner can put her to better (and much more frequent and abusive) use than myself.
