Rimfire 28-30-950 Help!!!!
Hello,
I have just purchased, built and flown my new Fokker D.VII from Great Planes after beeing amazed by the flying characteristics of the G.P. SE5a that my Dad gave me for X-mas. I built my SE5a with a Tower Pro 2410-12D motor, 15amp T.P. ESC, 1700 11.1 3s lipo and a GWS direct drive 9x6 prop. This SE5a has excellent power, great flying times (22min+) and great value ($30 motor+esc). I had to modify the fuse/cowl area for this motor because G.P. designs their aircraft for their exclusive motors (Rimfire). I did not want to get into modifications with my new Fokker so I installed the recommended Rimfire 28-30-950. I used a Thunderbird 18 amp ESC from Castle Cretions the same 1700 batt and 9x6 prop. The plane flies fine but I notice it with less power than the Tower Pro motor. The fokker only gives me approx 10 min flights. What am I doing wrong? I hear every body saying that this Rimfire is awesome but I consider it inferior and way more expensive to the Tower Pro 2410-12D. Will I see any difference in power and flight duration using a 10x4.5 prop? Help PLEASE! email me at: pepitin@gmail.com THANKS!!! |
