Stephen, your placement of the mufflers is correct. They did not extend below the hull:

Hello Kmot

What a relief, I am so glad you mentioned it. I didn’t want to spoil how they where placed in real life, now you saved me.

By the way thanks for the pic, I was hoping to detail them as show in your pic. Unfortunately the pictures I have are not as good as what you supplied here.

Great big thank you
(More close up pictures such as the one you supplied are most welcome)

Thanks, Stephen!

Really great photos! I'm really looking forward to receiving my fittings and starting construction of my boat! What ESC are you planning to use? Radio?

Stephen I sealed the deck on the boat with a silicone glue. If in need of mayor repairs/changes I can still cut it open with no damage. Have you already given a thought to that? Eugène

Hello Frank

I am planning to use a graupner navy V40R (2875) it weighs 30grams and has forward break and reverse, BEC and other features I like. I changed my mind with regards to batteries. I will purchase 2 5pack 4200mah 6v intellect NIMH batteries. I will connect them in series. In this manner I will be giving my motors 12v which should bring my boat on the plane effortless. With regards to the radio, I use FUTABA 40MHZ AM marine band.
N.B your goods will be mailed out today.

Hello Eugène

Good idea, I was thinking about that. Yes future repairs will be a problem if I glue the deck. However I am planning to mount all the goods that might go wrong in an accessible area just under the removable cabin. Keep looking at my thread and you will see.

Thanks
Stephen

Good idea, Stephen

I received my motors yesterday and I'm thinking about purchasing an additional DX-6 TX and modifying for Marine use. I have doubts that we will ever see the Ace unit for sale and I really like my Spectrum that I fly with. Keep up the good work and we appreciated your build thread.

Stephen, good choice on the AA´s, I´m also switching over to 10 cells AA´s. Start checking your weight with all the strengthing and such you might end up to heavy, thats´my prob at the moment and reason why I´m switching. Besides that I smoked my NiMh´s C-cells this weekend. Never seen batteries smoke before but they did, my fault again they were to hot after charging and I went sailing at full speed for about 20 min., gone!! Talking about hot, is the AA tray you have re-enforced? Watch out for hot batteries in a plastic tray, the connectors melt into the plastic and you lose the connection, boat is dead still in the water! GL -> Eugène

Hello Eugene

Thanks for the tips, I am constantly careful not to add extra weight. Checked my motors and found that they only drain 1.5 to 2A under load. They are 5 pole motors not 3pole, so the heating from my batteries will be quite low.

Thanks
Stephen
