These are the contests I know about. As we learn more I will update the thread. If we are lucky, others may try to hold a competition and/or practice.

SEFF may be a no go for me....everything is up in the air. We're selling our house in a couple of months, and there's tons of work to do. Not sure how many days the wife will even let me go to SEFF. I'm guessing Don is going to have their contest the same month anyway, so not many will come again.

Canadian f5b trials
June 23 /24 2007.

We are pleased to organize this event @ the Rideau Club in the Ottawa region.

Typical F5B tasks for 16 NIMH cells OR
4s lipos planes are:

Distance race -200 seconds
Thermal duration -600 seconds
Precision landing

The plan is to have 3-4 rounds on Saturday and 2 rounds on Sunday morning, followed by some fun flies after lunch
US pilots are most welcome.
Campers are always welcome.
Pilots meeting @ 9:30 AM with an explanation of the rules and safety info….
The Rideau Club is a wonderful place for this event, with ample room for the flight course and landing.

A lunch will be served both days with plenty of bottled water, all of which is included in the registration fee, which for the 2 days is $15.

MAAC and AMA cards required, please.

I don't know if we'll be doing anything at SEFF this year. I do know some of us have talked about being available Wednesday afternoon to help anyone considering flying Thursday's LMR contests. I know I will want to be using that time (Wed PM) to practice for the LMR - it's about the only time I'll have until then!

I was waiting to see what was going on with SEFF, before finalizing on a date for the CASA F5B (old VA F5B) contest. I was hoping to fit it into May since the weather starts to get good, but May is crowded. I need to avoid May 19-20 since this is a tentative date for an ESL F3B contest as well as May 5-6 which is the BASS DLG contest. May 12-13 is somewhat open, except this is Mother's day weekend and Saturday is the normal CASA TD contest.

How about April 28-29 for the CASA F5B contest?

Please don't let the names competition/trials intimedate you... Most of these contests are more like training, practices, etc... As for what I will be flying,

Bandit

Simple planes, not specifically designed for these tasks but capable of completing 20 laps, and a lot more in the hands of a good pilot. So come out, do your 20 laps, thermal, and make some new friends.

Yes, I'd like to go this year.

More than likely myself and at least one other SEFLI Go-Fast Junky will attend one of the esat-coast F5B events.
