Show us your Peck peanuts

O.K. let's kick this new forum off with a couple pictures of a Nesmith Cougar. One of Peck Polymer's old standby designs, it's as close as you can get to a guaranteed good flyer. This is my second one, the first was built in 1975 when I was 12.

This is a "peanut scale" free flight rubber powered model designed by one of modeling's all-time greats Clarence Mather.

This particular one is covered with Japanese tissue and weighs 7 grams.

Very nice. I built a Peck Polymers Nesmith Cougar in the '70s too. I'd probably do a better job today.

Here's my Peck Pietenpol left over from the '70s. I used to have a nice set of Hungerford spoked wheels for it, but I misplaced them.

Peck Polymers Zero

This is my Peck Polymers Peanut Scale Zero.
Weight: 14.0g with rubber
Rubber: 1 loop, 0.090", 1.5g
I have trimmed this plane to fly a left turning circle in a gym. The rudder was warped hard left by steaming over a kettle (does not show well in photo). Both wings are much warped by steaming to resist banking in the turn. Large amount of down thrust. All nose weight for balance was packed into the spinner which weighs just under 1g. Flies well but fast. Best time was about 40 seconds. You can see a movie of one of it's flights at this URL:

Here is my Peck Piper Cub. This is a nice plane and fun build. I had for 8 years and it crashed so I will have to build a new one.

scigs, good lookin Cub! I have that kit somewhere in the shop, now I'll have to go find it and build it. The yellow on your plane is the perfect shade.

Here's a peck P-51 Mustang that I painted in racing colors rather than the usual military scheme. Almost done, still have to mount a prop.

And a perfect landing too!
