How much right & down thrust?
I'm putting together (well, assembling an ARF anyway) a plane that seems to suggest a motor offset of 1 degree LEFT thrust, and NO down thrust at all, based on what you get when you bolt op the motor as is. I know this is an electric forum, but the plane is a typical .40 size trainer (Prince America Lumina), but this site gets so much more traffic than RCOnline. I also have a Jeti 30/3 motor and a couple of ten cell packs if anyone can recommend a good sport electric plane for it...
Thanks, Rick |

Left thrust? On a high wing trainer?
Weird..... If you have a computer radio, build it 'true, and use mixing to set it up to track straight...let's face it, if you want a pattern plane you would have bought a pattern plane. As fars as the Jeti motor goes...and 10 cells...what do you want? Just about any .25 sized plane is going to be OK. Warbird combat? Ben Buckle vintage? 40" span biplane? Its just too broad a question. Now if it were me, I'd instantly gear it, and look for a WWI biplane with AUW around 4-6lb. Or build a 60" span vintage, and gear it. Isn't there something called a sig rascal? Or how about an electrostreak for real fun. |

On a high wing trainer I would start with 2 or 3 degrees of downthrust and say 2 degrees of right sidethrust...........then fine-tune the actual amount during the first test-flights by trial-and-error.
The actual ammount needed is determined by many factors such as wing position and length of the nose. A well trimmed-out model is a pleasure to fly..........well worth the effort to get it right. Steve |

Thank you so much for responding! I will add some right thrust-I thought I really should, but I just needed the extra little bit of encouragement. I'll try it without downthrust I think for now, as it has a pretty long nose on it, much longer than most planes in general. As for the Jeti 30-3 and the 10 cell packs I have around, I will look for an attractive .25 sized plane if that is what you say is the rough equivilant that it would power.

This is the second post I've read this morning where you've "plugged" the planes you sell.
I know you're an advertiser here but.... |

...it's not allowed in such blatant context. A private e-mail would be better to solicit the Diablotin model. I guess you didn't know that the discussion group has a section for advertisers!!!
