EF Yak or 3D Hobby Shop Yak?

I read both threads thru (well skipped a little bit on the EF one over 40 pages!), started a few hours ago finally finished. The most reading I've done since finals last semester! Anyways I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on if the EF Yak is worth the extra $$ over the 3D HS yak? Both seem to be built very well. The videos of each so excellent flight characteristics. I tried doing some searches on the topic I've brought up but I didn't find anything to helpful. I fly mostly 3D and love the look of both planes but the funds won't allow the purchase of both so I have to make a decision.

Any thoughts would be highly appreciated.

Cheers
Addison

And I'm off to go do some late night night flying!

I own the ef not the 3dhbbby shop so I will pipe in about the EF---its more scale than the 3d hobby shop, the build is very straight forward with only a couple of mods needed around the canopy. It flys unbelievably well and will do anything you ask it to. Customer service is bar none--I actually bought mine through 3d hobby shop.

The 3d hobby shop looks amazing---I simply love Bens covering schemes, I like Bens construction a bit better---thicker tail surfaces, better canopy latches, carbon fiber gear. The choice is really yours to make--call Ben at 3d hobby shop and discuss it with him---he sells both and will be able to disect each model for you and help you make the best decision!

Thanks for the info. I will give them a call. I am just looking to fly some 3D, I need another plane this size to fill a mishap. It won't stay pretty for too long I'm sure!

Cheers and happy flying!

IMO, you can't go wrong with either one. Both companies strive for ultra-high quality and both companies are dedicated to customer service before, during, and after the sale. That's why we're happy and proud to be Extreme Flight dealers and why we use their power systems in our aircraft.

The EF Yak is bigger than the 3DH Yak, it can carry bigger batteries, and can use some more wattage. The 3DH Yak is really more similar to the Extra 300 that EF sells, they use the same recommended motor and ESC. I fly my EF Extra on the exact same setup we use in the 3DH Yak (2818-900 motor, AirBoss 35esc, APC 13x6.5 prop, TP Extreme 3S 2070 mah), this setup works really well in both airplanes.

I say, pick the one you like the looks of and that you have power system parts for, and you won't be disappointed with the way either one flies.
