The GWS PT-17 will look good and fly alright if you put some time into customizing the model and upgrading from the stock power system. I was very dissapointed in the performance with the EPS 400 motor (barely loop).
Get the laser cut ply struts from e-flightline.com. They're a huge improvement over the flimsy ones with the kit.
I bought the brushed 480 motor and gearbox that comes with the e-flight p-47 for $18. It fit in with little modification (just had to split the fake radial in half to get it over the motor). The plane will now loop from level flight with ease.

If you would like to build one, aerodromerc makes what appears to be a very nice kit (I have no experience with their products, but they look nice). It is what I would consider a medium sized airplane with a wingspan of 48" with a weight of about 4 lbs. I believe that they suggest using an AXI 2820/10 for power.
